This article presents information on the book "A Practical Manual of Parliamentary Rules," by Ainsworth R. Spofford. It is informed that this latest addition to parliamentary manuals is of great value, although it will not fully meet the hopes of its author. His aim is to make a book of practical utility in the conduct of business in voluntary societies and public meetings. It is opined that the said book is of great value as it gives a very good idea of the parliamentary law of Congress, especially of the House of Representatives; and its comparisons of American practice with British and French methods are very instructive and novel.
