This article presents information on the book "Convenient Houses, With Fifty Plans for the Housekeeper," by Louis H. Gibson. The book is intended to deal with houses in a housekeeping spirit. It contains plans for fifty houses, mostly of a very modest kind. The writer is a practicing architect, who writes with knowledge, clearness, and sense. Naturally, the practical details of planning and construction get most attention. The plans do not lack invention, and the amateur house-builder should get a good deal of useful instruction from them and from their commentary.
