This article presents information on political conditions in the world during 1891. The feature of the Iowa campaign is the announcement by many men of both the great U.S. national parties that they propose to vote against the candidates of their own party in the pending election, on the ground that this is a state contest. The recent Church Congress in England gave up a good part of one day's discussions to the consideration of church work in the poorest quarters of the cities and in industrial and mining regions.
