A bitter journalistic row between the proprietors of two Republican newspapers in Connecticut has resulted in the revelation of some very ugly party secrets. A short time ago the proprietor of the Hartford, Connecticut based Evening Post, John A. Porter, who is also a member of the Legislature, published in his newspaper an article entitled The Whole Story, in which severe reflections were cast upon the conduct of the proprietor of the New Haven, Connecticut based Palladium, ex-Judge Lynde Harrison, who was Chairman of the Republican State Committee in 1884, and who has been for many years one of the ablest leaders of the Republican party in Connecticut. Both in and out of his newspaper, Judge Harrison has been outspoken in condemnation of the course of the Republican majority in the Legislature in refusing to allow the Democratic candidates for several posts, who were elected in November last, to enter into office. The Evening Post presumed to rebuke the Judge for his utterances on this point.
