This article presents information on the book "Richard Wagner's Letters to Theodor Uhlig, Wilhelm Fischer, and Ferdinand Heine," translated by J.S. Shedlock. A comparison of the German edition with the English does not redound to the credit of the former. The eminent publishers, Breitkopf & Hartel, who have made a fortune out or Wagner's works, deemed its sufficient to place these letters in the market, with good type and paper, it is true, but without running-titles, index or a word regarding the friends to whom Wagner addressed them.
