This article focuses on the book "The Finding of Wineland the Good: The History of the Icelandic Discovery of America," edited by Arthur Middleton Reeves. The sumptuous work of Reeves, so happily entitled, is pretty surely, at any rate as far as the Scandinavian sources of information are concerned, the final word on this important and fascinating theme. It will put an end, it may be hoped, both to the crude speculations of archeological socialists and to the unbelief which those speculations have aroused in the minds of many rational readers of history. Its author fully equipped himself for the task lie has performed so well by a sojourn of several months in Iceland.
