The article critically apprises the book "A Social Departure," by Sara Jeannette Duncan. The book proceeds with picture of a character arriving at Montreal from England with the unusual language so dear and sacred to the Briton. Adventures of the English and the Canadian damsel as they travel through Canada in sleepers and ordinary cars are narrated on pages crammed with laughter-provoking sentences. The two girls ride on a cowcatcher, and between what they imagine and what they say, there is fun enough.
