The article critically apprises the book "Glimpses of Old English Homes," by Elizabeth Balch. This is an attractive book and is a reprint from the "English Illustrated Magazine." It is disfigured to some extent by occasional misprints and by less excusable carelessness on the part of the author. Of the eight houses described in this book, the most interesting are Penshurst Palace, Arundel Castle and Hinchingbrooke. The illustrations in this volume are numerous and quite up to the average of English wood-engraving.
