The article critically apprises the book "Annals of the Artists of Spain," by Wilham Stirling. This new edition of a standard and valuable become its possessors. This book is too well known to need notice at length. It contains little criticism and that little of not great pretensions to technical insight. The book is, what its name imports, the story of the artists of Spain, told at considerable length, with abundance of anecdote, in an easy, agreeable and somewhat garrulous style. It shows much special knowledge of Spain and Spanish life and the career of Spanish painters.
