This article presents information on the book "Letters of William Lee," edited by Worthington Chauncay Ford. The name of William Lee is not unfamiliar to the readers of our Revolutionary history. One can learn from Ford's introduction that late in 1766, or early in 1767, William Lee accompanied his brother Arthur to England, to engage in mercantile pursuits In these he would appear to have met with some success, but his most marked activity was only a political character. Presently the troubles between Great Britain and her colonies became more acute. Lee was forward in promoting the preparation and delivery of petitions in favor of the American cause to the King and the House of Commons in Great Britain.
