This article presents information on the Prince de Cond&eacute, who revolted against the government in Paris, France. Cond&eacute, though he secretly longed for peace, had to prepare for war. Condé effected a junction with the Duke of Lorrarne. At that very moment, Condé fell ill, and had to be brought back to Paris. Ho had a return of the malarial trouble. Paris was transforming itself under his eyes; the "straw" of the rebels had been replaced by "paper," the royalist emblem. Negotiations were conducted m a hundred directions in the dark. Paris really wished for peace. On the 19th of October the Partisan militia went to St. German and conducted young Louis X1V. back to Paris. The King's entry was triumphal. Condé was already with his little army in the north of France; and now began the war.
