The article presents information on various political developments in the U.S. during the early 1890s. The article reports that the anti repealers are still filling the air in Washington with rumors of difficulties in the way of unconditional repeal. They are sure that there will have to be a compromise of some sore, and they are finding great comfort in the partisan disturbance, which has been precipitated, quite foolishly, in the House over the Federal election laws. The article also reports on a proposition well worth considering, is that introduced in the House last week providing for the annexation of the Territory of Utah to the State of Nevada. The present condition of Nevada is a reproach to the system of government. It has two members of the United States Senate and one of the House of Representatives, although its population has been dwindling for years and had sunk as low as only 45,761 souls in 1890.
