The Silver-Wedding Tournament

This article sheds light on the enthusiasm and appreciation of Italians in the rejoicing over the silver wedding of King Humbert and Queen Margaret. That this spontaneous demonstration is well merited is recognized by all who live in Rome and see with what self-abnegation and interest the sovereigns take part in all that touches the public welfare. After all the predictions of financial disaster, and the general discontent following the discreditable disclosures concerning the banks, and the dissatisfaction anti want of confidence of all parties in the present government, it is surprising to see how entirely all these troubles are put aside in the enthusiasm for the fiestas.
