This article presents information on the book "Diary of a Journey Across Tibet," by Hamilton Bower. The book is directed chiefly to those interested in geographical research, and to those who may be contemplating travel in the same or similar regions. The author also shows a keen sense of humor with a decided gift for expressing it. Indeed, he speaks of what he underwent and accomplished in such a plain, every-day manner that are in danger of forgetting that his journey was quite out of the common run, and puts him in the front rank of living explorers. From June to November, the average altitude of the ground where the party camped was over 16,000 ft and much of the region traversed had never before been visited.
