The article discusses the book "The Migration of Symbols," by the Count Goblet d'Alviella. According to the author, when people see how often dissimilar objects came to borrow each other's forms, and were made to blend with each other, they are forced to the conclusion, that no combination is unacceptable to symbolism when an amalgamation of ideas or beliefs is to be strengthened through such blending of the images by which they are expressed.
