The article presents information about some recent law-books published. The second edition of Professor Wambaugh's "Study of Cases" is really a new book. The aim of the volume is to teach students "the methods by which lawyers detect dicta and determine the pertinence and weight of reported cases," in other words, the use of the tools of the trade. "Handbook of the Law of Contracts," in the "Horn- book Series," is a volume citing ten thousand cases and containing over nine hundred pages. Professor John Westlake's "Chapters on the Principles of International Law" is, as he says, not a treatise on international law, but "an attempt to stimulate and assist reflection on his principles." It contains essays on the relation of international law to law in general; on the equality and independence of states; on territorial sovereignty; on war and on other subjects.
