The article presents information on political issues from various parts of the U.S. The eighteenth annual Conservative Political Action Conference began recently with a wish for a bang. At the opening press conference in the safe confines of a Washington hotel, Jeffrey Wright, head of Young Americans for Freedom called for dropping a few strategically placed nuclear weapons and ending the war in a day. Phyllis Schlafly assaulted the Pentagon for aiding the radical feminist plan for the destruction of American society. A highlight of the three day affair came during a debate on the war between former Pentagon official Richard Perle and "National Review," senior editor Joseph Sobran.
