The article discusses Fiction. "Captain Macklin" is a swashbuckling story of a nice lad whose Irish descent supplies probability for his devotion to "the sex'' and for his passion for indiscriminate soldiering. It is the most natural thing in the world to find him campaigning in Central America after West Point has proved inhospitable to his ideas on the subject of hops without leave. No one can handle a Honduras revolution more entertainingly than novelist Richard Harding Davis who keeps the reader interested in his young hero and his young hero's heroes-boys of all ages, but alike in their enthusiasm for fighting, with a leaning to fighting on freedom's side.
