This article focuses on the book "All the Russias. Travels and Studies in Contemporary European Russia, Finland, Siberia, the Caucasus, and Central Asia," written by Henry Norman. In his engaging preface, Norman states that the book as the outcome of four journeys to Russia added to an interest in the subject which had extended over years. He disclaims any intention to write a comprehensive account of Russian institutions and Russian life, confining his aim to a presentation of the aspects of contemporary Russia. While this volume has not the permanent value, it is indispensable to every student of Russia at the present time.
