The article presents economic updates in the U.S. One update reports that the National Irrigation Congress at Ogden, Utah, has just ended, with its large attendance of delegates representing every Western State and Territory, and including scores from the Atlantic slope. The meeting has shown how widespread and earnest is the interest in arid-land reclamation is. In another development Columbia University reports a probable deficit for the coming year of more than $100,000, most or which must be begged by the university president from wealthy friends of the university.
