The article discusses the book "The History of South Carolina in the Revolution, 1780-1783," by Edward McGrady. McGrady traces military operations in the South with great minuteness, and in general in the same depreciatory spirit that characterizes his treatment of revolutionary leader Nathanael Greene's relations with the partisan leaders. McGrady's book is certainly of more than local interest. But, for the spirit in which the latter portion of the work has in large measure been carried out, there can be only reprobation.
