The article presents information on the book "Federico García Lorca: A Life," by Ian Gibson. Lorca possessed an astonishing array of talents-he was a playwright, poet, pianist, guitarist, actor, director, visual artist and expert folklorist-but his was an essentially musical gift. Not only did he electrify friends and strangers as a performer of traditional Spanish song, his writings still ask to be channeled through a human body-spoken, sung, shouted, stamped with the feet. Now all that is left of him is the printed page, a medium he deeply mistrusted and around which a veritable Lorca industry has developed.
