This article presents the responses of the author on the comments made by various persons with regard to the political developments in Nicaragua. It is opined that the decisions administered by Ronald Reagan, President of the U.S., is sabotaging any chances of establishing democracy in Nicaragua. With regard to Nicaragua, the evolution of Sandinista foreign policy might seem a moot point given the White House's uncompromising, obsessive policies. Still, when one considers ways to make the hemisphere safer for revolution, Nicaragua presents a challenging case. In discussing revolutionary governments, the U.S. left regards national sovereignty as a cardinal principle, and rightly so, but the exercise of that sovereignty can have serious consequences, which cannot be simply wished away.
