The article discusses several works on science. One such work is "Plant-Breeding," by Hugo de Vries. The Macmillan Co.'s fall announcement list contains the second volume of the "Cyclopedia of American Agriculture," edited by L.H. Bailey; "Text-Book of Southern Agriculture," by F.S. Earle; "The Physiology of Plant Production," by B.M. Duggar; "Types of Farming," by L.H. Bailey; "Agriculture for High Schools," by G.F. Warren; "Crops for the Southern States," by J.F. Duggar, etc. In a handy little volume "Introduction to Infectious and Parasitic Diseases, including Their Cause and Manner of Transmission," by Dr. Millard Langfeld gives an admirable brief survey of the various organisms now recognized as distinctly harmful.
