This article presents developments related to book publishing. George Willis Cooke's "Bibliography of Ralph Waldo Emerson" is prepared upon the same general plan as the same author's "Bibliography of James Russell Lowell." The alphabetical list of single titles giving the place and date of first appearance and subsequent reprints, fills fifty pages. On September 30 and October 1, C. F. Libbie & Co. of Boston sell a large collection of books consigned from England, including some notable lots, among them a set of the Delphine Classics, 187 vols., on large and thick paper; "Notes and Queries," complete to June, 1908, in 123 vols., with six (out of nine) index volumes; and the "Gentleman's Magazine," from its beginning in 1731 to 1850, 190 vols.
