The article discusses several dramas. The little book "The Ibsen Secret," by Jeannette Lee, is chiefly remarkable for its ingenuity in the exposition of a futile theory and its radical misconception of what constitutes dramatic merit. Whoever wishes a daily reminder of dramatist Johann Wolfgang von Goethe will find the book "Goethe Kalender," for 1908 just the thing. If symbolism be as some writers seem to hold, a great virtue, the play "The Toy-Maker of Nuremberg," which was produced in the Garrick Theatre, might lay claim to a place of high distinction as drama.
