The article discusses various French books that focus on different subjects. A book "Les Premières Civilisations" by J. de Morgan concentrates on studies on pre-history and history to the end of the Macedonian Empire. Those who care for the by-tracks of historical science will find interest in "Leibniz Historien," by Louis Davillé, "Les Aventures du Cardinal de Richelieu et de la Duchesse D'Elbceuf" is an anonymous account from the archives of the Château of Acy. A study of Jansenism proper, from the Roman Catholic point of view is compiled in "Le Jansénisme."
