The article presents information about various books. "The Life of Francis Daniel Pastorius, the Founder of Germantown," by Marion Dexter Learned, brings the reader in touch with the original sources of Pastorius life history as uncovered from the archives of Europe and the U.S. As a valuable contribution to the original sources of the biography of one of the most important characters in the settlement of the American colonies, professor Learned's "Life of Pastorius" takes a peculiar place and deserves high praise. "The End of the Road," by Stanley Portal Hyatt, gives a really interesting picture of South African conditions before and since the Boer war.
