The article focuses on the book "The Religious Attitude and Life in Islam," by Duncan Black Macdonald which describes the ideas of the Moslems. An excellent feature of this volume is the exposition it gives of the Moslem philosophical explanations of the phenomena of prophecy and dreams, particularly philosopher Ibu Khaldun is cited at great length. Comparisons with the methods of Christian science and the phenomena of hypnotism naturally suggest themselves, and are made by Macdonald. The value of his work would be increased by distinguishing between the three sections of Islam, the Semitic, the Aryan, and the Berber.
