The article presents information on drama. The book "Aristophanes and the political Parties at Athens," by Maurice Croiset and translated by James Loeb, is a scholarly discussion of the political and social views at Aristophane in which a thesis is maintained and illustrated by analyses of the eleven extant plays. Loeb's translation is well done and should be of use to many English readers. However on the whole one is grateful for the exhaustive index and for the introduction by John Williams White.
