The article presents books on Balkan Lands. Some of the books discussed are "The Servian People: Their Past Glory and Their Destiny," by Lazarovich-Hrebelianovich, and "The Lands of the Tamed Turk, or the Balkan States of To-day," by Blair Jaekel. Lazarovich-Hrebelianovich conveys, from personal knowledge and the study of excellent sources, mainly Slavic, much valuable information concerning the physical, mental, and moral characteristics of the Servian race and the geographical features of all Serb territories. In dealing with the modern history of his countrymen he makes it sufficiently clear that his sympathies are neither with the Karageorgevitches nor with the Obrenovitches, who have for a hundred years guided the destinies of Servia, subject to assassination and deposition.
