This article presents information on various political developments in the world. After almost a decade, the press would have learned not to be fooled by former U.S. President Ronald Reagan. Take the former President's videotaped testimony in the trial of his National Security Adviser, John Poindexter. Reviews were pitiless. "Fumbling, halting, appearing befuddled," wrote journalist Haynes Johnson in the newspaper "The Washington Post" for March 23, "his eyes wary and almost haunted at times, his voice huskier and lower than one remembers, visibly older and defensive, he resembled the unflattering caricatures of him." One should support Lithuania's right to, national self-determination. Its case is at least as strong as those that could be advanced by nationalists in Hawaii, Alaska or Mexico's stolen territory, Texas. People seem a bit vague about Lithuania's history all the same, imagining that it has been one nation, free for centuries, governed from Vilnius.
