This article presents information on various developments in world politics. Dangerous new international question has developed during the past week on the subject of Japan's intervention in Siberia. The United States has thus far held back her assent to the project, and differences of opinion among the Allies as well as in this country as to the consequences for Russia are strongly marked. Russia, since the peace treaty with the Central Powers was signed, has moved its capital to Moscow. Leon Trotzky, Bolshevist Commissioner of Foreign Affairs, has resigned. The peace with the Central Powers is reported to have caused the growth of two movements to oust the Bolsheviki. The food situation in England, according to British High Commissioner to the United States, is as serious at present as it has been at any time since the war began, although rationing by the card system of meat, butter, and sugar has put an end to unjust discrimination against the poor.
