The announcement of a new school of social science invites reflections of various kinds. The names of the sponsors of the school inspire confidence and give assurance of high ideals and purposes. The establishment of a new centre of thought and research will in any event bring fresh impulses and perhaps a reorientation. Let the proposed school start on its career without too much of protest or challenge. It will be a very distinctive and valuable factor in contributing to the new constructive thought that will be needed more than ever during the next ten or twenty years.
