The article focuses on the financial condition of the U.S. during the last week of the January 1918. There is an upward movement in the New York Stock exchange. It brought prices of numerous active shares, both railway and industrial, to the highest level of the year. It impressed the mind of Wall Street. From the purely financial point of view, the heavy war tax payments are approaching, and shall presently be confronted with a campaign for another huge war loan. The war continues and the economic pressure has been more severe than at any previous period.
