The article discusses about the recent comprehensive statement of E.A. Gardner, an English archaeologist, about the scope and importance of archaeological discoveries. According to Gardner, during the first months after the landing of the Allies at Salonica there was little time for the study of antiquities. But when the army of occupation had settled down in the country interest awoke in the ancient remains to be seen on every side. A provisional museum was established by the British authorities in the White Tower, placed at their disposal by the Greek Government, while the French also made a collection in a temporary building.
