This article focuses on news from various parts of the world. The German advance into Russia and the general disintegration of Russia's armed resistance have been the most discouraging events of the week to the cause of the Allies. Anarchy in Finland and the Aland Islands, owing to clashes between the moderate government and the Bolsheviki, has led to the intervention of Sweden and to its seizure of the Aland Islands. Air operations during the past week have been favored by clear weather, and the British succeeded in bombing the German submarine bases at Zeebrugge and attacked enemy concentrations at Ghent and Lille.
