This article focuses on some interpretations of Greek philosopher Plato as discussed in the book "Platonism," by Paul Elmer More. The close historic interpretation of Plato's thought is the task of critical and philosophical scholarship. But the Platonic writings belong preeminently to the literature of power, influence, and suggestion. And misapprehensions or partial interpretations of Plato's meaning count for more in the history of humanity than a definitively true interpretation ever will, supposing it could be ascertained or promulgated to an unheeding world.
