This article focuses on political issues in the U.S. Some freak notions have lately been put forward in regard to the rate of pay which the federal government should accord to its employees, and at least one of them has got so far as to be embodied in a bill introduced in the U.S. Congress. The bill provides a general system of compensation to federal employees for injuries sustained while in the performance of their duty. Opposition to the new rule barring from amateur contests any golfer engaged in the sale of sporting goods, seems to be increasing in the U.S.
