This article presents information on several books. Some of the books are "A Book of Remarkable Criminals," by H.B. Irving, "Crime Prevention," by Arthur Woods, "Not Guilty," by Robert Blatchford and "Criminology," by Maurice Parmelee. These books are based on criminology. "A Book of Remarkable Criminals" is a book for the man who enjoys Sherlock Holmes. Irving says that he has chosen these criminals for their preeminence in character or achievement, but after reading some of the portrayals, one wonders at the selection. There is nothing revolutionary or new in the book "Crime Prevention." The curious thing about it, is that it should have been written by a Police Commissioner. It makes clear what a trained police force, inspired by good leadership, can and cannot do toward preventing crime.
