Karl Liebknecht has been humanity's witness at the heart of Germany. Eager, earnest, unquenchable, he has shouted into the unwilling ears of German ministers and judges what is said in the safety afforded by the Allied bayonets. And now fortunes of war have taken this man from jail and set him on high. Three years ago he raised his voice almost alone, now great masses of men look to him for direction. Liebknecht's strength lies in his wide intellectual grasp and great personal courage. The book "The Future Belongs to the People: Speeches by Karl Liebknecht," is edited by S. Zimand.
