It is not necessary or desirable to attempt to describe in detail the working out of this plan the Students' Army Training Corps for rendering service to the U.S. government. On the educational side, the arrangement is that is given to solders in Amherst forty-two hours per week of academic instruction and study, in addition to eleven hours of military training which is under the direction of a captain and eight lieutenants of the army, assigned by the War Department. With respect to discipline, soldiers are fully under the control of the military officers.
