The article focuses on the unpublished commentaries of George Ripley, a writer. According to the author, several of these volumes by Ripley are plainly the very ones used by him in preparing his reviews for the "New York Tribune", where he was long the literary editor. Among these is a copy of John Fiske's "Outlines of Cosmic Philosophy." The recently published "Life and Letters of Fiske," by John Spencer Clark, reviewed in the journal "The Nation" last January, may give some interest to the presentation of these Fiske Ripleyana now lying buried in a provincial town of the south of France.
