The article presents information on several books. "The Rider in Khaki," by Nat Gould, talks of a popular fabulist of whom people in the U.S. have never heard, but who, according to the publisher, is the idol of the English-speaking world elsewhere and this one dutifully concerns a stuffed soldier, a bisque damsel, and a wooden horse. The idea of the book "The Man Who Lost Himself," by H. de Vere Stacpoole, is one of the oldest in the world, doubles, or mistaken identity. "Stealthy Terror," by John Ferguson and "The Pawns Count," by E. Phillips Oppenheim, represent what may fairly be called the yarn of the hour, with the destiny of the warring world hanging upon the chances of espionage and the machinations of diplomats, and especially upon the exploits of those mysterious champions, the gentry of the Secret Service.
