The article presents information related to several books containing short stories. "The Best Short Stories of 1917," and "The Yearbook of the American Short Story," have been edited by Edward J. O'Brien. "The Yearbook of the American Short Story," begins with a list of the addresses of American magazines which publish short stories and proceeds with a "biographical roll of honor of American short stories for 1917." "Tales of Wartime France," translated by William L. McPherson, as a whole, is a collection of tales which are an interesting expression of the changed mood of war-time, France. Another book is "The Country Air," by L.P. Jacks. Jacks is at least as much interested in humanity and talks about the greater world of human nature.
