The article focuses on the reconstruction work by the Smith College Relief Unit in France. Over five-sixths of the money contributed will be used directly for relief work and for the reestablishment of communal life. The Unit formed itself into a sort of commission government covering all the more important departments of daily life. The first step taken by the Unit is to arrange and bringing of supplies by motor trucks. It was decided to sell at a little less than cost to those who had money, and a system of barter was arranged for the others.
