The article presents news related to political issues. The report of Lord Bryce's Committee on the alleged atrocities in Belgium was published yesterday. Comment on this must be left to neutrals. A Briton, whose own country is not yet beyond the possibility of similar happenings, cannot be expected to write dispassionately on the subject. The memorial service for the Canadians who have fallen in the war, held in Saint Paul's Cathedral on May 10, was singularly impressive, not only from the hushed throng that filled the huge church, the pomp of solemn music, and the exultant eulogy of the bran dead, but still more as a conscious expression of the unity of the British Empire.
