This article analyzes the book "How Germany Does Business," by P.P. Gourvitch. For about a hundred years prior to the Franco-Prussian War Great Britain was engaged in showing the world how to make things. For a good part of the time since then Germany has been engaged in showing the world how to sell things. For years discussion has been rife regarding German trade methods. Gourvitch says the Germans financed their foreign trade largely through London, England but sometimes through Paris and other money markets.
