The article presents information about the book "The Control of Water As Applied to Irrigation, Power, and Town Water Supply Purposes," by Philip A. Morley Parker. The author does not establish the fundamental formula of hydraulics. Indeed, he states frankly in his preface that this book is essentially the product of actual engineering experience. There is also included the method of chemical gauging, the latest procedure employed for measuring the flow of water in a channel. This interesting process consists of injecting continuously in the stream a chemical at a uniform known rate.
