The article presents information on books "Abington Abbey," by Archibald Marshall, "Missing," by Humphry Ward and "Unconquered," by Maud Diver. "Abington Abbey," offers a doubtful asylum for the wayfarer in these perilous times, it honestly attempts to be a chronicle of the old sort. "Unconquered" is a story similarly compounded, of old sentiments and conditions confronted by the new emergency. The baronet is the hero this time, the young domineering British male, ducked to by his tenants and spoiled by his women. His mother is a modern woman, full of spirit and independence towards the world in general but she does not dream of resenting the egotism and rudeness of her titled and estated son.
